Exploration Place is a science museum in Wichita which opened in 2000. The science museum is located in an extraordinary building designed by Moshe Safdie. They have a 60-foot tall theater and planetarium. The museum’s Exploration Park with an adventure playground and picnic area is free and open to the public.

The Wichita Art Museum is the city’s leading art museum. It opened in 1935 and holds over 7,000 contemporary and historical pieces of art. The art museum showcases work from American artists such as Mary Cassatt, Thomas Eakins, Arthur Dove, and William Harnett.
