Old Cowtown Museum is one of the oldest open-air history museums in the country. In the 1860s, Wichita became a terminus for cattle drives on the Chisholm Trail (which is how the city got its nickname, Cowtown). Now the living history site and museum has 54 historic and recreated buildings to replicate 1865-1880. The museum has 12,000 pieces of history including furniture, tools, and more. Visit the Old Cowtown Museum website for ticket prices.

O.J. Watson Park is the ideal location for a wonderful day packed with excitement. Visitors can try miniature golf, a train trip, volleyball, pony rides, and other activities while they’re there. Fishing, kayaking, and pedal boating are all popular activities on the lake. You may simply just sit on the beach and take in the scenery.

There are a plethora of activities available in O.J. Watson Park. Bring your friends or family to compete in a mini golf tournament! Although admission to the park is free, there is a cost for certain activities and all rides. The park is named for former Board of Park Commissioner President O.J. Watson.

Did you know the Original Pizza Hut is located in Wichita? Two brothers (Dan and Frank Carney) created the pizza place in 1958. You might not recognize the building as a Pizza Hut at first because this was before the iconic 1963 building design. Visiting the museum is free. Regrettably, the Original Pizza Hut doesn’t serve pizza. But it has Pizza Hut memorabilia such as an antique Pizza Hut restaurant table and stained-glass lamp.
